It is designed to be used through the following standard driver interfaces: WDM kernel streaming, DirectSound, Wasapi, ASIO, and Alsa for Linux. Under Windows, the card features 8 recording channels (4 stereo devices), and 8 playback channels (4 stereo devices) that are mixed to the 2 physical outputs.
Digigram will debut its miXart 8 ES multichannel sound card, thenewest product to join the company’s EtherSound technology linefor real-time audio distribution over standard Ethernet.
Featuring 8/8 EtherSound I/Os and 8/8 analog I/Os, including fourmicrophone preamps with phantom power, it is targeted at public addresssystems and logging applications, where it provides a unique linkbetween audio databases and low-latency audio networks. Audio files maybe played directly from a hard disk to the network, while live sourcesmay be archived to a computer-based logging system simultaneously.
Analog and network inputs can be mixed on the card and routed toanalog or network outputs. The core of the system, the miXart 8,supports simultaneous recording and playback, as well as audio effects, metering, mixing, routing and real-time processing. Options for MPEGencoding/decoding on the card, sample rate conversion and delay areavailable.
OEM development partners can use different APIs and developmenttools to easily include miXart 8 ES into their applications.Contractors and system integrators can use Digigram’s standardEScontrol software to manage the network routing. Additionally, thecard is compatible with Digigram’s Audio Manager software for multizoneaudio management.
