I have done a lot of scanning, but never in an RDP Environment. Scanning usually requires a lot of bandwidth in the system to move the image. Even if you get it to work is it going to be really slow because you are trying to push the image across the LAN or WAN to the server without compression. The Compression usually happens at the file level not during the scan. The scan is raw data. I would recommend that you move to a mixed environment where you have some people using PCs and some using RDP.

Does everyone require a scanner in your environment? If not then move the people that do not need a scanner to RDP and keep the ones that need a scanner on PCs.
