DTMB (Digital Terrestrial Multimedia Broadcast) is the digital TV standard for mobile and fixed devices, developed in the People's Republic of China. It is used there and in both of their special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau), and also in Cambodia, the Comoros, Cuba, East Timor, Laos and Pakistan. While all Windows plug and play sound cards (Crystal, Yamaha, Creative sound blaster, ESS, etc.) are compatible, not all sound cards will support the full range of sample rates. Also, not all PC's will have the speed to support a real time display when high sample rates are used. In this case the display Frame rate may need to be lowered. Right-click the listing for your sound card or audio device, then select Update driver Browse my computer for driver software Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. Select the audio device whose driver you want to update, select Next, and then follow the instructions to install it.

ASIO4ALL is a free and alternative audio driver which allows its users to get very low latency from their sound adapter.

While most sound cards on the market allow you to playback audio without issue, ASIO4ALL provides a free alternative if you're having issues running software which increases latency on sound output.

It's a generic WDM driver that can be used in various situations, especially when you're using an older audio device or running an older version of Windows which doesn't include support for your audio driver.
ASIO4ALL is ideal for MIDI devices and provides installation without problems and requires no special knowledge or settings. Installation is pretty quick and straightforward. When you start ASIO4ALL, it will appear in the system tray where it can be accessed to manage the driver. Different options include latency in/out compensation, buffer offset and resample audio between 44.1kHz and 48kHz.
The WDM device list has controls for output and input including mix capture, speaker output, etc.
Overall, a great alternative for people experiencing issues when working with audio mixing and creation projects.

In Windows Vista and later, software volume support is provided for audio hardware that does not include and amplifier with an associated physical volume control.
The following diagram shows a simplified representation of the Windows software volume support.
The diagram shows two separate audio data paths. One when an amplifier is present and one when the Windows APO software volume control is used. If an amplifier is present, the driver advertises, KSPROPERTY_AUDIO_VOLUMELEVEL. If the audio driver does not indicate that it supports KSPROPERTY_AUDIO_VOLUMELEVEL, the Windows audio engine creates a software volume control APO.
On a typical PC, only one of these data paths will be present, since there will typically be one set of audio components in the computer. The two paths are shown here for illustrative purposes.
The IAudioEndpointVolume interface represents the volume controls on the audio stream to or from an audio endpoint device.
If Bluetooth or USB audio is present, their volume controls will be controlled separately.
Data path with amplifier present
When a client application calls the IAudioEndpointVolume interface in a configuration where there is an amplifier and a physical volume control present, the audio driver exposes a KSNODETYPE_VOLUME node in the topology filter. The presence of the volume node makes IAudioEndpointVolume aware that the volume level of the audio signal will be modified by the hardware.

Data path with no amplifier present
When there is no amplifier present, IAudioEndpointVolume works with the audio engine to initialize the Windows software volume support APO.
Since there is no physical volume control to be modeled, a KSNODETYPE_VOLUME node is not exposed in the topology filter. Volume attenuation and gain are performed by the APO software volume support component.
For information about the volume ranges and the default volume levels for the different versions of Windows, see Default Audio Volume Settings.
